After rebooting, Windows will automatically install the driver. Once the driver is uninstalled, restart your PC. The only difference is you need to select Uninstall device instead of Update driver in step 3. To do so, repeat the steps mentioned in the Update Audio driver section. If neither updating the sound driver nor rolling it back did the trick, you should try uninstalling it. Hopefully, the audio is restored on your PC. Follow the on-screen instructions to update the driver.
